Operations Manager

 

Organization:             Trelleborg Healthcare and Medical

Reporting to:               Directly to the H&M President with a dotted line to the GM in TSS Malta

Job Role:                        The Operations Manager has responsibility for the overall supply chain of released product to the                                                                 customer. This role oversees department supervisors who oversee a team of individual contributors to                                                      ensure departmental goals are established and achieved, maximizing customer satisfaction while                                                                  minimizing cost. 

Duties, responsibilities, and authorities: 

  • Develops a strategic manufacturing/capability plan to meet the market needs and organization’s overall                                    strategic goals and objectives.
  • Partner with Human Resources to determine talent needs, improve employee engagement, performance management and overall alignment to the business unit’s organizational structure.
  • Ensures facility goals are established and driven to support Corporate Goals and Objectives
  • Provides monthly reports to communicate the financial, KPI and overall management performance
  • Conducts quarterly communication meetings to review performance, production, project status and Initiatives
  • Escalates issues or concerns to BU President or site General Manager as appropriate
  • Works with direct reports to communicate and update goals and/or metrics, illustrating objective evidence of improvement
  • Performs process audits to monitor procedure and policy conformance
  • Staffs to effectively respond to floor level QCDS (Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety) metrics
  • Collaborates across functional areas to implement needed improvements (tools, equipment, procedures, forms, training materials, etc.)
  • Actively promotes/builds a culture of continuous improvement
  • Provides a safe and clean working environment for all employees
  • May oversee the preventative maintenance in Production and Tooling
  • Ensures CapEx projects are completed on time and in budget

 

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • 4-year degree in Engineering, Operations Management or any related field
  • 5 years operations experience
  • 5 years' experience leading a team
  • Experience with Lean Sigma methodologies

 

Desired:

  • MBA or master’s degree in related field
  • 5+ years operations management
  • Experience with clean room/medical device manufacturing
