We are excited to announce that we are currently recruiting for a passionate and driven Development Project Manager. This role requires strong analytical and technical abilities and demands fast, but carefully thought-out results. The broad scope of the job demands a factual, direct and authoritative style of communication.

Working hours
Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:45 (45 minute break)
Friday 08:00 - 13:30 (No break)
Summary of the role
To develop new products and processes utilising new materials or technologies. Identify and evaluate new polymers, additives and technologies to enhance our product portfolio. Manage a portfolio of development projects from inception, until handed to production. Deliver projects to the agreed timescales, meet key customer requirements and ensure that the products developed can be made in a capable process.
Tasks and Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Environmental Maintain an effective Health, Safety & Environmental culture in the Company, that exceeds standards of performance as determined by Trelleborg Nottingham Limited and legislative rules and regulations. Ensure that all operations in the laboratory are compliant with the company’s systems and policies, and that a culture of continuous improvement is engendered
Product Development And Project Management Develop and validate new products to meet customer requirements To identify and evaluate new polymers, additives and technologies to enhance our product portfolio Identify new product ideas and opportunities Ensure that all projects are managed in line with the requirements of the Trelleborg Nottingham development process and Salesforce system. Develop and validate changes to existing products Ensure that all projects are delivered on time Ensure that all products developed can be manufactured in a capable process Ensure compliance with the Engineering Change Process Work with the Technical Support Manager to prepare the Product specifications and the Technical Data Sheets for new products Liaise with planning and production staff to facilitate on time production of project trials and samples. Through monthly written reports and day to day communication, ensure that the business is kept up to date with project progress and status.
Technical Sales Optimisation Support the sales force by attending customer meetings, ensuring that all visits are documented in a visit report that captures key discussion points and actions. Ensure that all customer requirements are captured and incorporated into the product design documentation. Responsible for the production of development samples as defined by the company trials criteria.
Laboratory Maintain and promote the highest standards of housekeeping in the laboratory Support the continuous improvement of the laboratory and quality of both product and customer service
Business Support To review product costs and target reductions To review product off quality levels and target reductions To review efficiency and target improvement To set up new products on Sage and ensure all Work Instructions are up to date and provide the necessary information needed for successful manufacture To provide technical support to production ensuring the swift and fully documented resolution of manufacturing issues. Actively support and promote Quality Improvement Initiatives. Support the maintenance and writing of the ISO 9001 system in relationship to the Technical department’s activities.
Communication & Leadership
Maintain effective communications with commercial, customer supply and production colleagues. Maintain an effective reporting procedure as required by the Technical Director. Actively engage all operatives in solving problems. Actively encourage and develop an open culture where employees feel able and supported in bringing forward ideas.
Education and Experience
Graduate in scientific discipline Minimum 3 years work experience Product development New product introduction Manufacturing Customer facing
