What’s the challenge?
This focus of this role is to provide, coordinate and project manage as required the installation, testing, commissioning, and support for Trelleborg Docking & Mooring products within the European region and beyond as required.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Inspection, commissioning, maintenance, breakdown, and repair work on docking & mooring equipment at sites throughout the region or as required
  • Coordination and supervision of subcontract labour required to complete site activities as above
  • Provide client training on day-to-day operation, troubleshooting and routine maintenance
  • Provide technical support to clients including outside hours as part of a support roster. Note attending sites for breakdowns outside hours will also be required.
  • Work closely with the engineering team on operations testing or improvements as needed
  • Proactively develop the market for Aftersales Services in region together with the Sales team
  • Understand client operational requirements and prepare appropriate proposals for upgrades, services and spare parts
  • Work with customers and the sales team as a technical authority in support of bids
  • Support the Aftersales order process as required
  • Conduct thorough in office preparation prior to departing for site with engineering and technical staff as appropriate
  • Prepare a debrief on return from site with relevant parties including, but not limited to:
  • Prepare and submit field paperwork in a timely manner such as, signed Service Inspection Reports, signed Site Acceptance Tests, signed Site Attendance Timesheets, Trip Reports, etc
  • Return any changes made to installation and configuration in the process of performing onsite service
  • Report any differences between site installation and engineering specifications to ensure ‘lessons learned’
  • Highlight and/or follow up any Sales or Aftersales potential leads
  • Attend training worldwide as needed to stay current on Trelleborg systems, and to build knowledge on new systems as they are deployed
  • Ensure all relevant safety policy and regulations are followed at all times
  • Manage and maintain local tooling as required

Geography to cover and travel requirements

  • Indicative on-site 150+ days per year.
  • Must hold a current EU passport without travel restrictions
  • Immunization records must be up to date
    Must hold or be eligible to obtain any necessary security clearances
  • Must be able to pass an appropriate medical
  • European citizen: willing to relocate to The Netherlands

What do you bring?

  • Vocational or bachelor’s degree (Instrumentation, Electrical or equal)
  • Extensive electrical, industrial control (e.g., PLC, SCADA, etc), instrumentation (e.g. MODBUS, TCPIP, etc) and windows software experience
  • Able to read circuit diagrams
  • High level of experience in hands on fault finding
  • Basic field mechanical skills
  • Experience dealing with client on-site and/or in an operational context
  • Skilled in report writing
  • Previous experience marine industry esp. ferries well regarded
  • Understanding of the principles of hazardous area compliance also well regarded
  • Approximately 5 – 10 years’ experience in the above
