Summary of the role:

As Key Account Manager you are responsible for specific Key Accounts within the Product Area Rail. The role requests a strong commercial acumen, a process driven mind-set and excellent commercial skills with an ability to understand the Rail market dynamics and products.

Your Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain contact to current customers and prospect to protect current business, you generate new business, assess market conditions, evaluate/set strategies and continuously and improve customer satisfaction
  • Oversee the development of selling programs, pricing and policies to insure profitable and effective operations of the sales department, you apply Sales Excellence and create customer value (CCV)
  • Keep appraised of market trends in business as well as by competitors, actively communicate those within the organization
  • Prepare business and annual plans covering sales and marketing budgets
  • Participate in industry-related shows, conferences, associations and technical sessions to maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of the industry
  • Develop plans and identify opportunities to direct the future growth of the business through new products, markets and services that fit the core competencies of the the future strategic direction of the company
  • Analyze and report key sales and marketing results to management

Your profile:

  • A minimum of 5 years work experience in a similar role within Sales with a university degree in preferably Mechanical Engineering
  • Excellent communication skills which you have proven in the past while interacting efficiently with customers in a professional manner
  • Experience in project business
  • Good organization, time-management and forward planning
  • Very good understanding of business economics
  • Strong sales management, people skills and negotiation skills, very customer and service minded
  • Excellent German communications skills (both written and verbal), fluent English communication skills
