The Senior/Lead Software Engineer is responsible for leading the software team in the development, implementation, support, and maintenance of software modules, systems and infrastructure for D&M’s proprietary software.
Major responsibilities
As the process owner of our client’s project software deliverables, you will identify areas for efficiency process improvements, develop and implement plans accordingly and ensure processes followed are in accordance with our ISO9001 requirements.
You will be responsible for our inhouse software development ensuring software revisions are implemented in a controlled manner while maintaining the full suite of product data from user and trouble shooting manuals and assisting with marketing materials.
In your role as leader of the software team you will, as required, identify, recruit and train team members, providing mentorship/guidance to the Software team from graduate to experienced levels. You will ensure software tasks are planned and team members are across priorities and that all software deliverables are complete inline with customer, contractual and Trelleborg requirements. As a part of this process you will raise capacity bottle necks, software issues and solutions to management.
You will participate as a high level technical specialist in design, development, coding, testing and debugging new software or significant enhancements to existing software. Liaising with technical staff, sales and in response to customer feedback to spot problems or opportunities with software to develop specification to resolve them.
We would like to see in the ideal Candidate
Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of relevant software related work experience
Strong programming skills in Java (front and backend), C++ preferred.
Demonstrated experience in management and leadership advantageous.
Experience in the following or equivalent seen as beneficial;
- Web Applications
- Server – ASP .netcore, Java, micro services.
- Client – HTML5, CSS, Angular.
- Apache/Nginx/IIS
- PostgreSQL/MongoDB/MySQL.
Excellent problem solving skills
Strong leadership skills; particularly in coaching and communication
Ability to Plan and prioritise across multiple deliverables
Ability to understand, break down, and translate a business priority into day to day actions
