The Trelleborg Denver facility is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to support our growing aerospace business in Louisville, CO.  We are looking for candidates that will be excited about partnering with a new local leadership team as we strive to meet customer needs in critical industries.  The Process Engineer is a hands-on position responsible for the analysis of methods, processes, tools, and systems required for the company’s manufacturing and fabrication activities.  Defines and develops the most efficient manufacturing process methods, parameters, and procedures.  Primary measure of success is a consistent stream of implemented improvements in support of TSS Denver’s Vision–Mission–Values (VMV).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs complex research and analysis tasks to determine best process design approach.
  • Involved in the selection of the most appropriate and cost-effective manufacturing engineering tools, machines, sub-assemblies and final assemblies.
  • Investigates manufacturing costs and provides manufacturing process adjustments and improvements.
  • Determines equipment requirements to ensure equipment is compatible with process.
  • Selects new manufacturing processes and may introduce new equipment to existing process.
  • Provides technical assistance to implement manufacturing new technology.
  • Follows existing documentation practices and continuously looks for improvements.
  • Makes data-based decisions using appropriate statistical techniques.
  • Operates under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
  • Demonstrates understanding, support and consistent application of our Vision, Mission and Core Values
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Education and Experience

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 5 or more years experience in process engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.  Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black certification is a plus.  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have ability to work in a team environment with other departments such as Production and Materials Management.
  • Ability to analyze situations and determine logical and reasonable solutions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal with team members and all levels of the organization.
  • Must have the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven project and time management skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply Lean and/or 6 sigma methods for process improvement.
  • Ability to promote continuous improvement priorities while achieving desired results.
  • Knowledge of materials and material requirements/testing
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve set goals on time.

Work Environment/Physical Demands/Equipment Used

This position is located in a manufacturing facility which requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, squatting, twisting, and bending.  This position requires approximately 50% of time spent on the production floor and 50% in a general office environment.  Requires lifting up to 50 lbs.

Health and Safety – PPE Requirements

  • Safety Glasses to be worn at all times when on the production floor
  • Safety Shoes to be worn at all times when on the production floor
  • Must wear appropriate PPE for all work activities performed; varies based work
