The General Manager strives to protect the organization’s public reputation and achieve total satisfaction of customers and employees while complying with all standards and regulations. Responsible for operational strategy alignment for assigned manufacturing site to the overall business unit strategy, while providing direct or dotted line oversight to all critical management site functions such as Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations, Safety (Environmental Health and Safety), Human Resources, Finance and Quality. Additionally works collaboratively with other functions including but not limited to Commercial (Sales), New Product Development and Innovation, Marketing, Product Line Management, IT,  and Regulatory/Quality personnel to ensure successful business development. Acts as a champion of culture and employee engagement at all levels of the organization.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develops a strategic manufacturing/capability plan to meet the market needs and grow sales for assigned manufacturing site that is congruent with the organization’s overall strategic goals and objectives; both short-term and long-term.
  • Contributes to the site’s overall manufacturing footprint planning by ensuring proper business cases for CapEx requests to support growth and recognizes proactively the need to adjust plans to fit economic realities.
  • Assists in increasing market awareness while focusing on the strategic positioning of the TMS image and brand.
  • Plans, organizes, directs and coordinates manufacturing activities at assigned
  • Collaborates across business unit locations to share resources, ensuring the balance of both cost efficiencies and service levels.
  • Participates in an annual Ambition Planning session to determine plan to meet ambition goal set by upper Produces an operational forecast monthly, against the ambition plan.
  • Motivates team to generate sales revenue and profits to meet or exceed budget
  • Collaborates with Quality and Regulatory Team to ensure SOP’s are followed, corrective actions are implemented and repeated occurrences are resolved timely.
  • Partners with Human Resources to determine talent needs, improve employee engagement, performance management and overall alignment to the business unit’s organizational structure.

  • Provides monthly reports to communicate the financial, KPI and overall management
  • Enhances profitability and cost-effectiveness of projects by providing technical support, guiding project management and ensuring alignment with business unit and corporate strategies, policies and Advises sales/projects/business teams with regards to project status to achieve desired financial result. Ensures inputs to contracts and quotations are timely and accurate.
  • Works with Product Line Director to ensure capability development within the manufacturing site meets market needs.
  • Drives key metrics regarding quality and continuous
  • Supports the training of the sales and marketing team on capabilities of the site to ensure profitable business development; at times interacting with key customers to support both new and existing business.

  • Optimizes the organization’s performance through Manufacturing, Purchasing, Engineering and Supply Chain Excellence programs, tracking contributions made through these efforts.
  • Establishes and champions Operational Excellence at the site.

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • 4 year degree in Engineering, Business or related field
  • 10+ years of manufacturing management experience or related experience
  • Previous P&L responsibility

Desired:

  • MBA
  • Business development experience
  • Experience working in medical device
  • 15+ years of manufacturing management

Salary range estimated:  $170,000-$210,000
