Trelleborg Healthcare and Medical is seeking a Product Mgr, LSR to join their team. This role is to provide leadership and oversight for capabilities within the business portfolio assigned to the individual. This person will be an expert in the capability that they represent. Capabilities are defined as materials, manufacturing processes, and services. These result in sellable products which are inclusive of the management of this role. This person will have the highest respect and integrity, able to build positive working relationships, negotiate and influence as a way to manage change and support the growth of the business. The position will work fluidly with manufacturing, sales, marketing, supply chain, quality, finance and R&D personnel to drive the business in a way that effectively manages products, materials and capabilities to improve the business, and foster profitable growth.The individual will collaborate with other Product Managers in matters of value adding and integrated solutions. The individual will provide input into the capabilities strategy to ensure that the organization remains relevant in the market in a leading position. The individual assumes the lead role within the business to define and implement tactics to achieve targets for sales revenue growth through sales support, new product launches and lifecycle management, pricing strategy, cost and asset management as defined in the business strategy by working with key functional areas such as: Sales, Marketing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, New Product Development, Finance, R&D.

Required experience and education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business with and/or at least 5 years of related experiences in the capability area
  • 5 years or more experience in the Healthcare and Medical field
  • Preferred to have hands on manufacturing experience in the capability being represented
  • Experienced in creation and implementation capacity planning documents and business plans for CapEx requirements
  • Proven career of high performance through both technical product and business development experiences
  • Proven experience in change management and problem solving
  • Experience related to lean manufacturing a plus

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Review assigned portfolio aligning with the business strategy to ensure capabilities are understood across the new product development and commercial team to increase sales; where needed participate in customer meetings.
  • Work with Market Segment Management to identify capability needs of the market; analyze quotations and no quotes for opportunities to expand capabilities
  • Produce business case for capability expansion; and where appropriate with M & A using acquisition as a strategy to develop capability portfolio further
  • In the course of strategy development conduct competitor analysis from a manufacturing standpoint; understanding competitor capabilities with estimated cost structures based on manufacturing location; analyze competitors importing and exporting activities; monitor permitting for their site for expansion or increased VOC, and any other activities that improves our competitive intelligence.
  • Actively participate in the strategy development by collaborating with Market Segment personnel globally.
  • Be an active team member of the global capability team sharing best practices and tools across the team.

Tactics: 

  • Routine cadence of reviewing portfolio across sites in assigned capability to ensure profitability of products; this includes rationalization programs, reviewing tooling maintenance needs or upgrades
  • Works with manufacturing site management and planning to determine capacity contraints and assists in developing CapEx business case for additional equipment
  •  Identify and implement areas of improvement in the local site for cost savings, acts as a bridge to the commercial team to ensure customer understanding
  • Contributes to annual business plans to support sites that have capability assigned to represent
  • Travel to support customer opportunities and capability development promotion
  • Participate in trade fairs and roadshows; when requested
  • Work with marketing/Market Segment Management to support capability launch and promotional activites
  • Manage the local capabilities portfolios that are impacted by regulatory and market changes; ensure that steps are taken to make us compliant
  •  Works with NPD team to ensure that manufacturing run times and costing occur after product is launched at manufacturing site. Reports back discrepancies and works with sales team on adjustments in pricing if necessary
  •  Support intellectual property management and implement training for all areas of (patents, manufacturing related NDA's, secrecy of information)
  •  Management of commercial policy guidelines as they pertain to tooling; validation; and other services within the scope of their capability
  •  Organized and execute capabilities training for team members
  • Develops KPI’s for area of responsibility to ensure continous improvement and corrective action
