Location: This position is located in Delano, MN but will relocate to Plymouth,MN

Trelleborg Healthcare and Medical is seeking a Tool Designer to join their team. Designs, evaluates and reworks tooling as necessary to meet customer needs.

Education and Experience

Required:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years of tool design experience

Desired:

  • Some programming experience using CAD/CAM technology
  • 2-year degree in Tooling or related discipline

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Designs new tooling per standard practices
  • Leads tool design review meetings
  • Designs tool rework as requested by Engineering
  • Evaluates processes and methods for tool design
  • Works cooperatively with designers, engineers, tool makers, and machinists to solve design problems and/or resolve scheduling conflicts
  • Performs virtual molding and flow simulation
  • Manages daily SolidWorks maintenance tasks
  • Evaluates processes and methods of tool design
  • Works with service and/or product suppliers
  • Assists in proposals for new projects
  • Uses CAD/CAM software to develop design and machine programming
  • Monitors workload and works with other programmers to plan, prioritize, and adjust job schedule to maximize machine utilization and meet due dates. 
  • Maintains tool databases, machine tool information, programming standards, and backups of machine specific settings and program information.
