Summary of the Role: 

A Quality Improvement Specialist is responsible for the management and execution of Customer return responses, Internal audits, and Supplier corrective actions.  This includes non-compliant product Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCA), and internal process compliance audits per AS9100.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

  • Manage Trelleborg Quality Management system documentation
  • Manage Internal Auditing System per AS9100.
  • Plan, Maintain and follow up on Internal Audits per AS9100.
  • Manage Customer returns and assignment to appropriate internal process owner(s).
  • Liase with Process owner with RCCA analysis of Customer returns.
  • Manage Supplier RCCA, maintain Log and follow up process per QMP-20, Non-conforming Product.
  • with CSR to get responses.
  • Manage Internal process improvement projects as assigned.
  • Secondary responsibilities - Product Inspection, Inspection and Quality metrics,  Document control, Zero Defect metrics (ZDP), and Non-Conforming Material Report processing (NCMR).

Education and Experience: 

  • GED or high school diploma required. Associates degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years knowledge of quality systems required
  • Experience working in a distribution and/or a lean systems environment required.
  • Background in aerospace seals market preferred
  • Familiarity with basic measurement tools, Blue prints, military specifications, AS9100, Internal auditing practices preferred.

  • Managerial and Organizational.
  • Knowledge of Statistical and analytical analysis.
  • Strong problem solving skills, including Root Cause and Corrective Actions
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to successfully work independently
  • Time management skills, including the ability to meet deadlines.

Travel: 

  • Expected annual travel up to 10% overnight as necessary
