We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Supervisor to join the team at our Long Eaton site in Nottingham.  If you are looking for a challenge and have experience as a supervisor in a production environment, then we want to hear from you.  The benefits of this role will include a Christmas shutdown period and a chance to start a rewarding and promising career inside a growing business. 


Salary: 34k

Hours: 39

Overtime is paid at x1.5  on hours over 39, as well as DOUBLE time on a Sunday!

Shifts are rotating shifts that consist of:

Monday – Thursday   Days: 06:00 – 14:00  Afternoons: 14:00 – 22:00 Nights 22:00 – 06:00

Friday – Days: 06:00 – 13:00 Afternoons: 13:00 – 20:00 Nights: 20:00 – 03:00


Summary of the role

  • To provide effective leadership and management of personnel, resources and activities under your direct responsibility.
  • Conduct RTWs, investigations.
  • To manage the absence reporting phone, take absence calls when necessary and document calls for Production Manager.
  • Set and meet high standards of operating performance.
  • Have particular emphasis on the effective running of the Factory floor, achieve high quality standards and attain production targets.
  • Be responsible for Health and Safety.

The processes in place at our site are of primary importance, as well as ensuring that discipline and general personnel are maintained.


Health and safety


  • To maintain an effective Health and Safety culture in the department, ensuring the optimum use of the team to maintain standards of safety as determined by Trelleborg Group and legislative regulations.
  • To ensure that all departmental accidents are reported immediately to the Production Manager or Operations Manager in his absence.
  • Ensuring effective corrective actions/identified safety measures are implemented within agreed/specified time limits and any necessary information is communicated to the team, shift colleagues, management groups and senior management as necessary.
  • To ensure that all team members receive adequate training and / or relevant instruction and information to enable them to discharge their duties in a safe manner.
  • Ensure that hygiene standards are maintained to the highest levels in all areas of the coating process.




  • To oversee all daily activities in all the production areas
  • Maintain strong leadership.
  • Implement the production plan to the approved schedule for the production period.
  • To be the standard bearer, always maintaining the highest standards of quality.
  • Effectively manage product changeovers to ensure efficiency is optimized.
  • Ownership of cleanliness to eliminate contamination/faults, ensuring cleanliness during changeover and at shift handover.
  • Improve daily efficiency to meet and exceed the target set by the business
  • Utilize agreed running speeds as quickly as possible to improve yield.
  • Improve daily quality to meet and exceed a target as set by the business.
  • Ensure lost running time information is clearly recorded (time lost & reasons)
  • Report all mechanical issues to the Production Manager
  • Actively support and promote Quality Improvement Initiatives and Manufacturing Excellence Improvements.




  • To provide supervisory cover for the whole site during working. Ensuring holidays and sickness are clearly documented.
  • Maintain accurate documentation/records (overtime, Absence calls, production sheets etc) as required by the Production Manager
  • Maintenance and completion of weekly efficiency information on the production KPI Board
  • Provide a full and positive contribution to the development of an effective team learning environment.
  • Leading by example and providing cover and support to maintain the production process during unplanned absences.
  • Computer literacy to allow effective record keeping of batch production processes.
  • Ensure break times and holiday periods are effectively controlled to always maintain balanced production throughput.
  • Liaise with the Per Manager to ensure effective training provision.
  • Ensure performance standards are upheld by all employees, documenting any underperformance.
  • Investigate excessive lateness and absence and report to production manager.
  • Actively engage all operatives and hold weekly team talks with team members.
  • Actively support all communication and other appropriate management initiatives.
  • Maintain a network of support with commercial, customer supply, technical and other members of the management team.
  • Actively encourage and develop an open culture where employees feel able and supported in bringing forward ideas.
  • Ensure good performance is recognized, communicated and appropriately acknowledged.
  • Ensure new starters are effectively inducted into the department and shift.


  • GCSE (High Pass C+)
  • Substantial experience of working within a fast paced manufacturing environment (5+ years)
  • Experience of managing Absence and conduct 
  • Experience of Managing a team of 10+
  • Good knowledge of H&S
  • Experience in Conflict Resolution
  • IOSH
  • Experience in coated fabrications would be beneficial but not essential
