What does the role provide you?

The Software Engineer role will be a part of a new team being formed to develop the next generation of Docking & Mooring Central Monitoring System.

The Central Monitoring System is responsible for safely managing the Docking & Mooring of the ship. It provides the users with context specific information and real time intelligence to take safe and accurate decisions.

The opportunity will allow you to work with latest tech stack and build full product development lifecycle knowledge from inception to deployment. You would be collaborating with your international peers from Denmark and United Kingdom to learn and share knowledge.

What you will bring:

It is expected that the role holder will most likely have the following skills and experience:

  • 2+ years of Java coding experience.
  • Strong Clean Coding practices.
  • Strong SQL Skills.
  • Familiarity with Spring or SpringBoot is a plus.
  • Ability to work in an Agile team.
  • Desire to seek innovative solutions for complex challenges.
  • Familiarity with Test Driven Design.
  • A keen desire to write code.

 The Must Haves:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field or its equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship/Permanent Residency or a valid visa with working rights in Australia.

This is a fixed term position with 12-18 months contract with strong possibility of being converted into a perm position in line with organisation strategic objectives.
