About the Job

Reporting to the Logistics & Service Manager, this role will be responsible for customer order management along with communication and coordination from sales order through production and dispatch.

We ideally want a candidate who is an experienced Shipping Coordinator who possesses a solid understanding of commercial, legal and financial export documentation and procedures as well as being positive, self-disciplined and an approachable individual, who will thrive in challenging situations and have a systematic approach to their workload. We pride ourselves on providing high quality service to our customers in what is a changeable climate, the ideal candidate will need to keep calm under what can be very difficult circumstances.

On a day-to-day basis, this role involves:

  • Preparing picking lists with the use of internal systems and reports
  • Preparing export documentation in accordance with required international shipping standards and customs requirements
  • Organisation of the dispatch schedule for the Warehouse, ensure orders are picked/packed or palletized and shipped in accordance with designated cut off times
  • Contacting and collaborating closely with freight forwarders to arrange freight collection and to ensure the best prices are received for all freight consignments
  • Managing the shipment 2 x 40ft containers to our US warehouse every month
  • Creating Customs documents
  • Creating courier labels using a variety of freight agents software
  • Creating courier labels for our own delivery van
  • Invoicing using Sage (moving over to SAP during 2023)
  • Receiving finished goods into stock, allocate to customers orders in a timely manner
  • Supporting the Customer Service team on a regular basis plus offer cover for Holidays/Sickness

About the Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role / relevant field. You will also have:

  • Experience of INCO Terms and be fully conversant with shipping out goods and receiving goods in from across the world but mainly the US/Europe/UK and China
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong people and relationship building skills
  • Customer driven with a positive, professional, can-do attitude
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Proficient in the use of various data bases
  • Experience of Sage/SAP and Sales Force an advantage
