Trelleborg Antivibration Solutions (AVS) develops and manufactures vibration components and system solutions. These are used in the rail vehicle industry, wind energy, agricultural and construction machinery as well as various selected industrial applications. We are seeking a passionate Innovation Engineer to join our Innovations Team at our Leicester, UK plant and at our Velten, Germany plant. In return we offer great benefits and reward package as well as opportunities to grow your career!

Summary of the Role:

Your role within the innovation team will be focused on the creation of innovative solutions, focusing on mechatronic systems and digitalization in close collaboration with other parts of the business. You will elevate our products and solutions to the next level, precisely meeting our customers’ sophisticated demands.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Scouting and exploring new technologies
  • Application of creativity techniques to fulfill future requirements of the AVS markets
  • Design and implementation of prototype applications in measurement technology, IoT and industrial digitalization projects
  • Specification of hardware and software for sensor applications, selection of suppliers
  • Conception and support in the testing of prototype-systems
  • Test data acquisition and analysis
  • Feasibility studies, analyses of potential and strategy development
  • Strengthening cost-conscious and quality-oriented product development
  • Technical project management of internal development projects from the idea to the market release
  • Support in creating and delivering of material (e.g. presentations, whitepapers) for sales
  • Technical advice to support the business, support of sales in the acquisition of new projects and strengthening Trelleborg’s future digital roadmap
  • Create and present conference and meeting contributions (internal and external)

Education and Experience:

  • Successfully completed university studies (Master/Diploma) in the field of mechatronics, electronics engineering or similar courses of study or comparable skills and knowledge
  • Several years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong experience in the use of Matlab
  • Very good understanding in the area of sensors, measuring principles and equipment
  • Good general programming skills - (preferably C-environments)
  • Experience in managing innovation / development projects
  • Ideally, experience in the design of mechatronic / measurement systems (hardware & software)
  • CAD experience (preferably Solidworks)
  • Spoken and written English and German (Necessary for the position in Velten)
