The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for development of and maintaining a Continuous Improvement culture, aligned with Trelleborg’s Manufacturing Excellence (ME) program, through training, coaching, counseling and executing projects by partnering with other staff managers in support of TSS Denver’s Vision–Mission–Values (VMV). Continuous Improvement projects will target opportunities throughout the operation that have an impact on efficiency or cost. This position will guide/assist project teams by training in the use of and deployment of tools, technology, policies and processes to improve overall operational effectiveness.  


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze current production processes
  • Review Quality and operations procedures
  • Identify areas that need improvement to improve efficiency
  • Develop plans to increase production and decrease costs
  • Implement plans and train staff on new procedures
  • Document changes and create regular reports for upper management
  • Builds relationships with internal leaders to understand business objectives and priorities, and to collaboratively develop and implement process improvements.
  • Leads process improvement initiatives
  • Leads and maintains the plant’s ME program, including monthly project reporting


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management or equivalent experience
  • 12-15 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma required
  • Engineering/Manufacturing experience required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge and experience working with CI methodologies - Kaizen, Standard Work, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, and Project Management


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience leading teams, excellent communicate skills
  • Six Sigma Certification (preferred)
  • Proficiency with TQM process evaluation techniques
  • Experience developing employee training programs
  • Must have the ability to understand and train in statistical analysis techniques, lean principles and team/project management.
  • Previous experience in business case development.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve set goals on time and within budgetary constraints.
  • Ability to analyze an issue to determine if it requires training, development, or involvement of additional teams, and to determine up/downstream impacts
  • Demonstrated knowledge in manufacturing, assembly procedures
  • Uses tact and diplomacy to exchange information and handle sensitive issues
  • Must possess strong business acumen with a broad global perspective while delivering targeted solutions to local business problems.


Work Environment/Physical Demands/Equipment Used

This position is located in a manufacturing facility which requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, squatting, twisting, and bending.  This position requires approximately 50% of time spent on the production floor and 25 % in a general office environment.  Requires lifting up to 50 lbs.

  • Safety Glasses to be worn at all times when on the production floor
  • Safety Shoes to be worn at all times when on the production floor
  • Must wear appropriate PPE for all work activities performed; varies based work
