This is a stand alone full-time role,  requiring the Accounts Assistant to undertake routine accounting activities. Working independently and on own initiative the Accounts Assistant will support the Assistant Financial Controller in the efficiency and effectiveness of the Accounts Department, liaising with other key site interfaces, such as Purchasing and Despatch.

What you'll be doing:

  • Provide support to both the Financial Controller and Assistant Financial Controller as required
  • Process Accounts Payable (using Baseware software)
  • Process invoices associate with intercompany nettings
  • Process VAT reconciliations
  • Complete supplier statement reconciliations
  • Process expenses
  • Conduct weekly bank reconciliations through SEB (Swedish Bank)
  • Monthly Payment runs and ad-hoc payments to suppliers/ vendors
  • Process Accounts Receivable Invoicing and Credit Control
  • Cashbook Processing
  • Work closely with the dispatch department for invoicing related matters
  • Assist the Purchasing Manager with general admin duties.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing department to manage GRNI (goods received not invoiced).
What you will need to succeed: 
 
• Minimum AAT qualified or qualified by experience 
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills & the ability to reconcile data in an efficient manner
• Conscientious & demonstrates a high attention to detail while maintaining accurate records
• Ability to work well under pressure, schedule work appropriately and show initiative to improve procedures where appropriate
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 
• Ability to  work to tight deadlines 
• Possess a 'can do' attitude and retain a sense of humour when under pressure
