About the Job

As Financial Analyst, you will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis to management in order to drive continued operational improvement.  You will have the opportunity to develop and maintain all product standard cost in addition to monitoring inventory transactions to ensure accurate reporting.  This position will work closely with operations to understand and explain major variances from standard cost.   This position has the opportunity to be partially remote.

About the Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for this position will be a proactive self starter with good ability to communicate across multiple departments and levels of the organization.  The candidate should have the ability to identify areas for improvement and offer creative suggestions for change.  Good organization and ability to work within a team environment is also desired.

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Complete analysis and communication of major deviations from standard cost.
  • Monitor process order variances and related inventory transactions.
  • Maintain and update product standard cost in SAP.
  • Coordination and summarization of month-end reports for plant variances and other P&L related reports.
  • Maintain the cost records for product changes/updates.
  • Prepare cost estimates for new products and cost variations of existing products.
  • Month-end accounting close including journal entry preparation, inventory reconciliation, capital spending, and reporting.
  • Direct annual product cost revisions of BOM’s and routings for all products.
  • Develop new reporting mechanisms to meet dynamic needs of the plant.
  • Assist with annual planning activities as assigned.
  • Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum Bachelors degree in Accounting from accredited College/University or equivalent background/experience
  • 3-5 years Manufacturing Accounting experience.
  • MBA or CMA certification is a plus
  • Prior experience with SAP highly desired.

  • Excellent communication skills with the desire to work in a team environment to improve operational results. 
  • Ability to interact and influence personnel in other departments in order to achieve mutually desired outcomes.
  • Effectively manage both personnel and team projects.

Key Interfaces and Stakeholders

  • Interaction with all levels of the organization to effectively understand the critical drivers of operational performance.
  • Need to develop close working relationship with operations, technical, purchasing, material control, and new product development functions.

Travel Requirements

  • Current responsibility will be local
  • Estimated travel to be minimal (less than 10%)
