Senior/Lead Mechanical Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Automated Mooring Systems (AMS) and Offshore team within our Operations group.
The Senior/Lead Mechanical Engineer is responsible for leading the technical delivery of complex mechanical equipment packages, generally of new or developing products, for commercial projects within AMS and Offshore.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead technical decisions and advice, based on proven engineering principles and evidence-based analysis
- Ensuring technical solutions meet project requirements, while pragmatic, operable and supportable
- Producing detailed design/production drawings and high-quality investigations
- Conducting reviews and engaging subject matter experts across other disciplines and the organisation to ensure projects have clearly defined, testable, and objective requirements
- Technical accountability including approving engineering outputs
- Providing feedback to assist less experienced engineers in their growth
- During manufacturing support Project Manager and Expeditors with
- Third Party product sourcing & review.
- Action and manage sourcing of BOM components and assemblies using ERP system.
- Co-ordinate and communicate project specific manufacture and test requirements. Work with production team to ensure any manufacturing issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
To be considered for the position we must see:
University Degree in Mechanical, Marine, Fluid Systems Engineering or equivalent.
10+ years working experience in mechanical design environment within Consultant, Contractor, or preferable Vendor.
Proficient in 3D and 2D CAD (Solidworks and AutoCAD strongly advantageous)
Demonstrated experience working across multiple projects and disciplines
Further areas of experience in the following are preferable:
- Previous direct team leadership
- Marine industry experience
- Work in project/EPC environment on vendor or contractor side
- Structural Design
Experience working with ISO9001 or Equivalent quality system, is favourable as is knowledge of MathCAD. Practical experience in a manufacturing environment is also favourable.

Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
Strong leadership skills; particularly in coaching and communication
Ability to Plan and prioritise across multiple deliverables
Ability to understand, break down, and translate a business priority into day to day actions
