TITLE: New Product Development Engineer
DUTIES: Plan, design, and conduct research projects according to established scientific methods, principles, and theories to solve problems; Improve, or generate new, products, components, equipment, systems, and processes; Perform devising research methods; set-up laboratory test equipment; build models and prototypes; calculate and analyze test results and prepare detailed reports with recommendations and conclusions; Estimate the costs, resources, and time required to conduct a research project and monitor performance to ensure these targets are met; Prepare calculations, specifications, and other technical documentation so that prototype designs can be manufactured and assembled; Develop and maintain technical expertise on advances and innovations; Statistically analyze critical products factors as they relate to product performance against customer specifications; Collaborate with plant QA and other personnel on supplier related issues that prevent the manufacturing process from producing expected results/materials; Collaborate with plant QA and other personnel on corrective actions needed to overcome processing problems; among other duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Textile Engineering, or closely related and one year of experience in the job offered or related. International and Domestic travel required, as needed, up to 20%.
