Summary of Role:
The Purchasing Intern will support the purchasing team in multiple capacities. This will include but is not limited to assisting the Purchasing team with New Product Introduction (NPI) orders.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Reviewing the sales orders and quotations for accuracy before placing orders.
- Work with Suppliers to ensure orders are acknowledged and promised deliveries are in line with customer's needs and original quotation.
- Expediting with suppliers as needed and communicating with Sales & Project Teams regarding progress of the tooling, samples, and certs.
- Coordinating the receipt in and invoicing of tooling, samples and quality documents.
Education and Experience:
- Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma
- Must be enrolled at a 4-year accredited university/college, preferably in Business Management, Supply chain, Logistics or related field
- Experience with JD Edwards or similar system, preferred
- Experience with Microsoft office suites (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Previous internships or work experience is a plus
