Tasks and Responsibilities
General:
- Collaborate with Test Engineers to implement new technologies, such as automation and robotics, to increase efficiencies and testing capabilities
- Perform research and analysis on new testing methods to improve current processes
- Operate under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment
- Other duties as assigned, up to and including Lead and conduct product testing projects
- Create electrical and pneumatic component bills of materials
- Wire electrical panels and equipment / Plumb pneumatic circuits and equipment
- Troubleshoot existing equipments control systems
- Develop an Equipment Network for remote monitoring and data acquisition
Software:
- Program PLCs, HMIs, Robots as well as SCADA and vision systems
- Use CAD software to design models and create drawings
- Use electrical schematic software to design electrical and pneumatic schematics
- Use Microsoft Office for project documentation
Electrical and Pneumatic:
- Program and troubleshoot full and semi-automated test equipment
- Update current sensors and feedback devices used in test system controls
- Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and troubleshooting
- Lay out and fabricate electrical panels
- Create/update electrical schematics for process controls, equipment, and facilities
Education and Experience:
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology , Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited University program
Desired:
- Minimum 1 year experience with PLCs and automated equipment preferred.
- Allen Bradley, Schneider, or similar PLC platform experience helpful
- National Instruments LabVIEW experience helpful
- Knowledge of product testing methods helpful
- Pneumatic and electrical schematic reading and creation preferred
- Fabrication, plumbing, and wiring skills a plus
