Trelleborg Healthcare and Medical is seeking a Safety and Sustainability Global Mgr to join the team. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Initiatives, the Safety and Sustainability Global Manager will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of all heath and safety at work activities across the business unit. Guided by the overriding Trelleborg principles for this global initiative the role demands close connectivity with all Healthcare & Medical (H&M) manufacturing locations and H&S Managers across the world. This is to ensure the business unit meets critical safety regulations and expectations in line with current and future priorities for the organization. It is also a key role in the adoption of best practice regarding safety @ work and precise coordination and change management insight regarding Safety and Sustainability Global Director, will additionally work with all site leaders to develop a culture of Sustainability.  Focus will be on the three pillars for Trelleborg around Operational, Social Engagement and Compliance.  Expectations to include developing best practices on Energy Excellence, Zero Waste to reduce our carbon footprint and Social Engagement within our local communities.

Education and Experience

Required:

• 4-year degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Communications, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field
• 8 years of safety leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry
• Demonstrated experience creating and delivering effective safety training programs.
• Demonstrated experience/ability to develop and document procedures, processes, systems, reports, and checklists to support safety program.
• 5-years’ experience in designing, implementing, and managing HSEQ programs within a multi-site enterprise

• OSHA Certification
• CSP Certification
• LEAN Manufacturing – Green Belt
• Background in leading multi-site H&S initiatives

Job Responsibilities:

• Individual site S@W annual Self-Assessment & related improvements actions
• Overseeing the site’s monthly reporting of LWC’s & LWD’s
• Coordination & liaising across sites Management Teams
• Liaising with BU Central Leadership Team
• Promoting ‘Best Working Practices’ across sites
• Liaising with TSS BA S@W Champion
• Keeping track of all indsurty standards and regulations relative to S@W
• Executive leadership of all cricital projects connected to S@W and ensuring they are completed successfully
• Administers and initiates safety policies and assures that adherence is achievable and compliance is robust, applicable, current and adequate.
• Influences attitudes and behaviors by inspiring commitment on the part of all employees to comply with safety standard
• Works with site leaders to determine sustainability efforts; assists as necessary with CapEx and potentially project management
• Shares best practices across all TSS
• Knowledgeable and up to date on incentive programs related to green energy and waste recovery efforts
• Actively supports Social Engagement Initiatives
• Works interdepartmentally to actively instill and support a safety and sustainability culture.
• Documents and maintains procedures, processes, instructions, and records that pertain to recommended and required environmental health and safety policies and activities.
• Manages, maintains, and applies knowledge of environmental health requirements and regulations by local, state, and federal agencies.
• Remains up to date on new and changing regulations and requirements to assure TSS compliance. 
• Investigates accidents, injuries, or occupational diseases to determine their root cause and initiates corrective and or preventative actions as applicable.
• Assumes the role of BU Emergency Coordinator when situations warrant.
• Maintains and communicates the IIPP for TSS.
• Develops and implements safety and sustainability incentive initiatives to promote continued awareness and compliance relative to S@W and Trelleborg’s commitment towards sustainability.
• Acts as liaison between TSS, regulatory agencies, and workers compensation carriers and brokers on recommended Safety/Environmental loss control practices, regulatory requirements, inspections, and required corrective action.
• Design, coordinate, and conduct safety and sustainability training for all employees at orientation and again annually.
• Integrates safety and sustainability into established continuous improvement efforts by remaining up to date on current industry resources.
