Job description

As Regional Sales Manager you will be responsible for developing new and existing business throughout the Northern Europe (UK & Scandinavia) and Eastern Europe area, securing orders to effectively meeting sales and marketing objectives, ensuring the products meet market demands and customer requirements and complies with the strategic direction of the company. The successful candidate will report directly to the Regional Director EMSA.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  •  Manage the tender and sales processes from receiving a lead to delivering an order, including managing the design and project management teams to meet customer (technical) requirements and commercial conditions
  • Achieving Sales, EBIT, Operational Cash Flow and Gross Profit targets for your responsible area
  • Actively involved in sales as well as, acting as a leader of people, managing a team of Sales Managers
  • Liaise with manufacturing and supplier factories, distributors and agents to ensure customer requirements and project timelines are met
  • Manage sales and marketing processes in accordance with the Trelleborg procedures, standards and best practices
  • Follow market developments and trends and translate these into business opportunities for Trelleborg Marine & Infrastructure.

Job requirements

As RSM you should have international sales experience with capital goods and experience of managing a sales team. You should be a consultative sales professional with a cooperative team player mentality and be able to successfully engage and collaborate with internal teams such as Marketing, R&D, Legal, Manufacturing and Engineering. This role will require you to travel internationally frequently.

Main experience and education 

  • A bachelor or master’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering or relevant technical background is preferred
  • Relevant (Inter-)national Technical sales experience ideally within the Marine industry or in civil contracting
  • Experience in managing a sales team
  • Fluent understanding of English and Swedish, knowledge of other language spoken in Europe are preferred
  • Strong personality, and sense of cultural awareness
