The Application Engineer has a large technical understanding to respond to customers' requests to safeguard existing business.

Scope of your role

  • Engineering support for managed accounts in order to develop sealing solutions, considering technical and economic aspects
  • Point of contact for the customer (design or R&D) for all technical questions with the aim of building a multilevel network with the customer

  • Initiate RFQ, as well as handle technical complaint and material compliance
  • Provide market feedback to identify innovation trends in order to further improve our sealing portfolio
  • Perform product and technical trainings
  • Support preparation of and / or participate in customer visits and fairs
  • Sealing evaluation to provide suggestions for improvements to customers application
  • Article data management and perform industrialization of design solutions (quality planning, item creation non-standard, etc.)
  • Approve technical drawings, customer specifications and documentations, start process for routing and storage in alignment with all involved parties

What defines you

Summary of the Role: 

The Project Engineer will support the Aerospace Aftermarket segment by managing customer projects and completing technical requirements from start to finish. The Project Engineer (PE) role is necessary to support TSS target growth segment of aerospace, specifically within Aftermarket customers and applications where projects have a significant degree of requirements. The job requires project management and design experience with preferred background in elastomers or composites, ability to manage and lead project teams both directly and indirectly, effectively communicate commercial and technical concepts with customers, work independently at times and meet established deadlines.  In addition, the appropriate candidate must be able to self-manage project tasks and deliverables, be familiar with risk mitigation and able to travel to support projects.

Tasks and Responsibilities: 

This role will be responsible for several activities.  These activities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage projects by following PMI or TSS AHA APM Process and AS9100 requirements
  • Development, coordinate and/or manage customer requests (RFI, RFQ, Q&A, NPI) including creation of quotations or proposals
  • Risk mitigation using various project management tools and internally developed tools
  • Understanding of customer requirements, applications, products, manufacturing process complete feasibility review

  • Interpret or develop technical requirements or solutions as needed
  • Design and validate Aftermarket seal, damp and protect solutions
  • Coordinate technical and commercial reviews as needed to ensure project success

  • Ensure quality and delivery requirements are captured, communicated and completed
  • Develop, coordinate and/or manage awarded projects (scheduling, risk planning, task management, testing, qualification, Q&A)
  • Support factories as needed to fulfill project deliverables
  • Facilitate regular meetings (including kick-off meeting) with project stake holders to maintain communication, project status through PDR, DR and CDR through NPI and FAIR acceptance
